Dana O'Neill
Assistant VP of Branding & Communications
"After moving to San Francisco from Los Angeles and job
hunting for almost 4 months, I joined YPGN (even though
I knew about it for almost one year) and started
networking with some of the members. Given my
background in communication/PR and my master's degree
in Communication from Pepperdine, YPGN sent my resume
directly to the recruiting executive at Hewlett Packard
for a position that just opened with the VP of Branding
and Communication. This position was never going to be
posted to the outside world and the HR office was only
looking internally, but due to YPGN's internal
connections, I was introduced at the right level and at
the right time. After three interviews and two weeks
later, I got the job and became a part of the HP
family. One of my responsibilities now is to give back
and help other YPGN members interested in opportunities
at HP. I still can't believe how fast things happened
and how much YPGN's members were willing to help when I
needed a job."

Johan Yang
Investment Advisor
"Working
at Citigroup as a Financial Advisor is my dream
job. When I graduated from
college three years ago I
was fortunate to go on a number of informational interviews with YPGN members working in
the financial industry who mentored me and steered me
in the right direction. Not
only was I offered advice,
but YPGN's senior members
set up an interviews for me.
One of these interviews landed
me an entry-level position at UBS PaineWebber from
which I then moved to Morgan Stanley and then after
two years moved to Citigroup. I would have
probably returned to my home country of Indonesia if I
didn't get the job at UBS PaineWebber upon graduation
from college
but luckily, due to continuous networking within YPGN,
I got the interview, which led to the my first job out
of college. I would like
to thank Kam Varzi (co-founder of YPGN who is currently
working at Washington Mutual in Irvin, Calif.) for
setting up the interview that changed my life."

Zoe Piper
Intern, Concert Touring Division
"Joining
YPGN and participating
in the Success 101
program was the most
valuable
experience during my
college career. YPGN
provided me with a
direct
channels for connecting
with industry
professionals while
still in college.
As I’m sure anyone
would appreciate, having
a personal contact to
approach
is a huge advantage when
seeking employment.
Through the contacts
YPGN had with MTV, I was
able to secure a summer
internship over hundreds
of other applicants. The
best part is that the
level of involvement in
YPGN events and
networking is completely
up to you, but obviously
the more you get
involved and the more
you network, the fast
you can accomplish your
dreams of finding the
perfect job. If you are
unable to attend YPGN's
events, joining the
email discussion list is
still extremely
valuable. I would highly
recommend YPGN
membership as an
essential tool for any
career oriented person
looking for an advantage
in the employment market
place."
Justin Parker
Analyst,
Business Career Foundation Program
"I would like to thank YPGN's members for all their help
while I was looking for work. I was recently accepted
to Boeing's Business Career Foundation program, which
is a two-year rotational job within different
departments at Boeing. I start on February 10th,
2003...I would like to especially thank Mike Delune
(YPGN member since January of 2001 who works in the
Finance Division at Boeing in Long Beach, Calif.) for
taking the time to arrange the interview with the HR
manager and for guiding me through the 3 interviews."

Hedi
Kamoun
Assistant Trade Analyst, Italy-America Chamber of Commerce
W.
"I would
like to thank YPGN for helping me revise my resume and
for providing interviewing assistance when I was
looking for internships. I've learned so much and met
so many interesting people by interning with the Los
Angeles Chamber of the Italian American Chamber of
Commerce. This internship has opened many new doors for
me and I hope to give back to other YPGN members when
my time comes. If anyone wants to learn more about what
it's like working for a Chamber of Commerce or if you
are interested to intern here, feel free to contact
me."
Alexis Bonnell
Director of Marketing
"My
YPGN affiliation has been
invaluable. It was worth the
price of my entire college degree
(which was $130,000), because YPGN was
responsible for me getting
my first job 4 years ago and
now it is where I go to find
the best, most ambitious
applicants as I am now in
charge of hiring for my
company's marketing department. In fact, I have
hired almost all of my
recent hires through YPGN;
my most recent hire, Kevin
Gasparro, (a YPGN member
only for two months)
is amazing and I couldn't
have been happier with my
selection or with the tools
YPGN has given all my new
employees. YPGN serves my
hiring purposes better than
any recruiter I have ever
used, and its free!"

Siddharth Bahl
Team
Manager
"I
work for one of the
largest business process
outsourcing companies in
India and I have the
greatest job I can dream
of, but it was due to
YPGN's high level
connections that I got
the chance to interview
with this company. Three
years ago, as I was
getting ready to
graduate from college, I
got a call from Kapil
Juneja (co-founder of
YPGN) who went to high
school with me in India
informing me about
Intelenet Global
Services, which was a
start-up operation at
the time. Out of
hundreds of applicants,
I was chosen to be one
of the first 4 customer
care agents that the
company hired and sent
off to California to work for a US
client. Now, I manage
over 250 employees and
the sky is the limit.
Networking does pay
off...and of course,
hard work is what allows
you to advance in your
career."
Kellie Kanda
Intern, Economic Research
"YPGN was instrumental in my search for a meaningful
summer internship. Through YPGN connections, I was able
to secure numerous interviews and I was eventually
offered a research intern position at Larta, a think
tank for technology companies. Beside working on a lot
of interesting economic research projects, I gained
invaluable business experience and attended exciting
conferences and forums that allowed me to network with
many industry executives."
