Success 101 is a course for young leaders with entrepreneurial spirits who want a fast-track path to business success. Success 101 is designed to better prepare graduating college students entering the job market or starting their own ventures. Participants are exposed to:
(1) Effective business communication styles and etiquette;
(2) Mastering networking both personally and professionally;
(3) Branding themselves and standing out of the crowd;
(4) Practical leadership and management practices;
(5) Using technology and media to stay competitive;
(6) Mastering first impressions and their professional image; and
(7) Discussions about the social impact of current business issues.
Success 101 involves a number of out-of-class networking opportunities (industry conferences and seminars) where the participants have the opportunity to meet executives from different industries, follow up with them after the event by asking for an informational interview and eventually secure an internship or a job. The course instructors also assist each participant in preparing a first-class resume and customized cover letters. Every week,
young professionals who have achieved a high level of success in their respective industries
are invited to share their stories with the course participants.
